Pelican brief
Here's a BP spinner thinking out loud: "Those pelicans are brown pelicans. They are brown anyway. It's not because they are coated in oil."

I've heard that Tony Hayward is going to say this is actually an environmental triumph. Coating a pelican in oil means that oil doesn't get burnt in a car engine to produce harmful CO2 emissions...
